Prosperity does not give a damn how old you are, neither does poverty.
I marvel at how greatly some people are doing at a very young age, and sometimes I look at myself and I be like it is well.
Growing up, I used to think my dad was very rich. We had two cars and a van for work, we ate anything we wanted, good clothes, attended the best schools. As kids we were taught contentment, so I always believed I had all I needed growing up and not once did I covet what another person had.
I am one of the many who planned what they wanted their life to be like at a particular age. I remember imagining being married latest by 25, having my own fine ass car before marriage, have a well paying job that I enjoy, a body that make heads turn (you know something to compliment my fine face na), and falling in love with the finest man. Leemao.
Lol o.
Prosperity is tied to a lot of things. And I think some of us don’t even understand what prosperity really is.
Prosperity is a condition of flourishing and good fortune, surrounding aspects like wealth, health, happiness, and personal fulfillment. It can be measured by a great quality in standard of living, access to quality education, healthcare and opportunities. So basically, if you’re successful and thriving in every aspect of your life, you are prosperous.
Poverty on the other hand, is the condition of struggling to survive. It is usually marked by insufficient income or financial resources, very limited access to basic needs like food, water, shelter, healthcare, and education. When a person lacks financial resources and an access to basic necessities of life, they’re considered to be living in poverty.
Now, that it isn’t evident that a person is exactly prosperous (yet) does not mean they’re living in poverty. And that a person is impoverished does not mean they’re wretched.
These NOUNS are so bold that dem no dey look face. Na who qualify dem dey follow.
Regardless of how old you are or how much of experience you’ve gained, you can be either of both.
I have come to understand that to be prosperous requires some level of hard work and true diligence. This thing no be beans. Now, I’m not saying those impoverished never worked hard o. I just think that time and chance happen to people differently.
Prosperity is as a result of intentional growth. Developing educational and entrepreneurial skills, being financially smart especially in planning and budgeting, being emotionally intelligent and having strong relationships and social connections. It doesn’t leave aside mindfulness, gratitude and positivity, self discipline and responsibility, open-mindedness, self awareness and personal growth.
Where am I in life right now? What have I achieved? What is life teaching me? What am I looking forward to achieving?
I can’t answer all of that. I can’t exactly define where am at right now. But am I making progress? Yes.
But one thing I know for sure is that, I’ll always make good effort, always be open-minded, be grateful, optimistic and continue to be hopeful.
Are you leaning towards prosperity?
If your answer is yes, that’s sweet. I bless God for you.
If your answer is no, or like me, you don’t have an answer, no worries —you’ll figure your life out eventually, and you’ll realize that working hard, not giving up and being steadfast in your faith truly pays off pretty well.
Wait, I think prosperity should be personal. You can declare yourself prosperous when you’ve attained a certain height, irrespective of what the society says prosperity is. At the end of the day, it is yours and nobody else’s. Abi?
I don’t know why I said all of these, but I believe I made some sense. Everyone prays to prosper, but our prayers alone can not make us prosperous. We have to work and walk toward prosperity. Remember, faith without works is dead.
Like I said earlier, prosperity does not give a damn how old you are, neither does poverty.
